Deuteronomy Begins: Obedience, Leadership, and the Consequences of Disobedience

In this episode, we begin the book of Deuteronomy—the final and most personal words of Moses. His first discourse recounts Israel’s journey, their failures, and God's faithfulness. We explore how obedience leads to blessing, how disobedience brings consequences, and how God restores those who repent.

We also examine what godly leadership looks like in the eyes of Scripture, connecting Moses' charge to the elders (Deut 1), Paul's guidance to Timothy (1 Tim 3), and God's indictment of corrupt leaders through the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 1). Finally, we reflect on the radical transformation of Saul in Acts 9, a story that shows how even the most misguided leaders can be redeemed by the grace of God.

🔹 Main Themes:

  • Leadership that reflects God’s justice

  • The weight of disobedience

  • Covenant history as the foundation of biblical faith

  • True repentance and restoration
